Problem Statement
We need a dev-first image that evolves with technology
Erie Day of Code is Erie's largest tech event of the year. Roughly 200 developers gather at a local venue to discuss software development, devops, product management, programming languages, and more. The conference needed a visual identity that would capture the energy and innovation of the current trends in tech community while remaining accessible to developers of all levels.
The ask was to create branding that felt different and exciting each year while maintaining recognition and consistency with the event's core mission of bringing together Erie's tech community.

Challenges
Annual reinvention with consistency
Each year, Erie Day of Code needed to feel new and compelling to attract both returning attendees and first-timers. The branding had to work across multiple touchpoints: website, social media, print materials, t-shirts, signage, and promotional items.
The visual identity needed to appeal to a diverse audience of developers, from seasoned professionals to students just starting their coding journey, while conveying the collaborative and educational nature of the event.

Solutions
Vibrant, trendy, code-inspired visuals
A dynamic visual language that incorporated elements familiar to developers. These included: terminal windows, code snippets, and geometric shapes inspired by programming logic. With the use of bold colors and modern typography, these elements together created energy and excitement.
The branding worked seamlessly across digital and physical applications. For the 5th anniversary, I developed a special commemorative design that celebrated the event's history while pushing the visual direction forward. Each year's iteration maintained core brand elements like the logo structure and color palette approach, while allowing for experimentation with new patterns, illustrations, and promotional concepts.
